Pacifichem Symposium Announcement

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to join our symposium on Quantum Computing in Computational Chemistry, “Practical Applications of Quantum Computing in Computational Chemistry (#CTH014) (Sergey Gusarov, Norio Yoshida, Hiroshi Watanabe, Ieva Liepuoniute, see 2025 Symposia | Pacifichem 2025 ” part of a The International Chemical Congress of Pacific Basin Societies (Pacifichem, December 15 - 20, 2025, Honolulu, Hawaii that takes place once every five years, bringing together 15,000–17,000 researchers from diverse fields of research. While quantum computing has the potential to transform computational chemistry—advancing quantum dynamics simulations, molecular optimization, quantum machine learning, and electronic structure calculations—its practical applications are still developing. At the same time, traditional computational methodologies continue to play a crucial role in overcoming current challenges, and their integration with quantum algorithms could further enhance their impact.

This symposium will provide a platform to discuss both quantum and classical approaches aimed at resolving key bottlenecks in computational chemistry. We welcome contributions from researchers working on quantum algorithms, as well as those developing innovative classical methods that could complement quantum computing in the future. Join us to exchange ideas, explore new methodologies, and foster collaborations that will help shape the next generation of computational chemistry techniques.

Note that the Pacifichem 2025 Call for Abstracts is open until 2 April, 2025, 23:59 HST (GMT-10).

Best regards,

Dr. Sergey Gusarov,
